Try it
Play a track, then click PSA. At 2× you hear two beeps a second.
Install
- Show your bookmarks bar: ⌘ Shift B on a Mac, Ctrl Shift B on Windows and Linux.
- Drag the PSA button above onto the bar.
- On any page with audio or video, click PSA. Click it again, or ×, to close the panel.

Can't drag it?
Create a bookmark named PSA and paste the code as its address:
- Chrome, Edge: right-click the bookmarks bar, choose Add page…
- Firefox: right-click the bookmarks toolbar, choose Add Bookmark…
- Safari: bookmark any page with ⌘ D, then right-click the bookmark and choose Edit Address…
- Phones and tablets: bookmark this page, then edit the bookmark and replace its address. On Android Chrome, run it by typing “PSA” in the address bar and tapping the bookmark.

What it does
Any speed
0.25× to 4×: presets, ± steps, or [ ] \ on the keyboard.
Stays put
Keeps your speed on each site or YouTube channel, and your place in long recordings.
Every player
Handles several players on a page, even ones added later.
Knows what's playing
Title, play and pause, skips, and the time left at your speed.
Out of the way
Drag it anywhere or shrink it to a pill that grows when you point at it. In fullscreen it fades until you move the mouse.
Private
No network requests. Everything stays in your browser.
Good to know
- The bookmarklet can't reach players embedded from other sites, such as a YouTube video in a blog. Open the video's own page, or use the Firefox extension.
- Live streams stay at normal speed: they can't run ahead of the broadcast.
